Jonas is a German trader who had been trading for about a year — mostly crypto on a live account, and by his own account not doing well — before his mentor pointed him toward Traderscale and mechanical, rule-based trading.

He reckons he bought at least fifteen evaluations before one came good. The lesson he took from the failures was diversification: he had been trading too many variables on a single account, which produced long losing streaks. He also stopped overspending on $50K challenges and built a DCA plan instead, buying more accounts at smaller sizes.

  1. How long had you been trading before joining Traderscale, and how would you describe your experience level at the time?

    I have been trading for almost a year now. At the start I was mainly trading Crypto on a live account but I wasn’t doing well. Therefore I switched to mechanical trading on prop firms.

  2. What were you doing for work or income before this?

    I have had some savings and I just finished school.

  3. What made you decide to try a funded trading program — and why Traderscale specifically?

    I think what makes prop firms interesting is the potential ROI. You can get payouts that are way higher than the amount you spend. Traderscale was recommended to me by my mentor.

  4. How many challenges or evaluation accounts did you purchase before passing?

    At least 15 I would say.

  5. How many attempts did it take to pass each phase?

    I’ve passed my first Phase 1 around 6 months into trading and passed my first Phase 2 just a week after. It had been almost a year since I started my trading journey, but with Traderscale, it took around four months from signing up to receiving my first payout.

  6. If you failed any attempts, what went wrong — and what did you change afterward?

    Diversification. I was trading too many variables on one account which led to larger loss streaks.

  7. What account size did you start with, and did you scale up over time?

    I’ve started overspending on 50K accounts and after making a proper DCA plan I realized it’s smarter to spend the same amount of money on smaller account sizes so I had more accounts overall.

  8. How many funded accounts are you currently trading?

    I have around 6–8 accounts at the moment across different prop firms.

  9. Roughly how long did each phase take you to complete?

    The average would be around 1 to 2 weeks.

  10. What does your trading strategy or approach look like?

    I trade a backtested mechanical system.

  11. What almost made you quit — and what kept you going?

    The amount of money I’ve lost. However I found a mentor who showed me what’s possible if I keep going.

  12. What’s one specific moment from this journey that stuck with you, good or hard?

    Having a fixed DCA plan.

  13. How long was it from signing up to your first payout?

    Around 4 months.

  14. How much was your payout, and how did it feel to receive it?

    It was only $252. It’s not super much but it showed me that it is possible to earn money with trading.

  15. What did you do with it — or what does it mean for your life?

    I will spend it on more accounts and try to keep scaling it up. It means that if I keep going trading can actually become my main income source.

    If you want to change your life, you’ll have to take risks. Trading is a big risk but if you stay consistent and work hard, it will pay off.

    Having strict rules, building a trading plan, knowing how to DCA and scale.
